Kenyan Teenage Boy Bags World’s Best Record

IGCSE 2016 Best Mathematics Student— A 17-year-old Kenyan boy named Manraj Singh has emerged the best in mathematics worldwide in the International General Certificate of Secondary School Education (IGCSE).

Manraj Singh is currently in the 12 grade at the Melvin Jones School in Nakuru Town. The IGCSE is participated by over 150,00 students from 156 countries of the world which are currently the number of countries where the IGCSE curriculum is administered.

In his home country Kenya, the Mathematics Whiz also bagged the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards Kenya.

Also in Kenya, Singh came out as the best in Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Accounting, and Computer Science. Despite his obvious love for calculations, Singh aspires to become a Surgeon.

On Monday the 19th of June 2017, a local newspaper interviewed the youngster at his school where he expressed joy on his latest achievement.

“I was very happy because now I can get a scholarship to pursue medicine at the University,” he said.

His mother Ms Dhiloan Kavita who is his number one cheerleader also spoke of her son’s achievements saying;

“I Knew he would top the world in Mathematics, so when it happened, I was obviously very happy,” the whiz boy’s matriarch said.

Following his outstanding achievements, Singh has been receiving offers from other prestigious schools to study on scholarship, but the boy has turned down all of them saying he has no problem with his current place of study.

His school Melvin Jones School bagged 10 of the 72 Awards won by Kenya in the Cambridge International A Level rewards worldwide.

As a reward for his performance, Melvin Jones School has given him full scholarship which is to last for the next two years. Melvin Jones School is sponsored by the prestigious Lion Club.
