Samuel Abisai Pays Off Huge Debt With SportPesa Mega Jackpot Money

The Sh 221 million SportPesa Mega Jackpot Samuel Abisai has reportedly paid off his student loan arrears with part of his jackpot money.

Abisai paid the Sh 256, 000 arrears in a lump sum to Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) on Tuesday, June 20th.

According to our sources, a casually dressed Abisai in a stripped shirt and black trousers (untucked) with a black backpack hanging down his shoulders walked into the HELB office at Aiversary Towers where he made the payment.

However, there were no details of whether the lump sum was paid in cash or cheque. Samuel Abisai obtained the loan during his days at the Nairobi University when he began a fashion design business to support his education.

That fashion business has now benefitted from his Sh 221 million jackpot money after it underwent a refurbishment. His new workshop is slated to be unveiled later this month.

Abisai took to his Facebook page to make the aouncement on his new fashion workshop saying;

“As we finalize our dream office /studio this month ….hope you’ll be one of our first clients… improving on our services ….pretty designs…quick delivery ….enjoy glass of juice as you wait to be served…#abisakidedesigner.”

Asked about his decision to pay off the HELB students loan at once, Abisai said he was just doing the right thing.

“I made the decision to pay off this loan as a show of responsibility for the funds I was given while I was in the university and also to enable other deserving students access Helb loans,” said the 28-year-old.

Officials at HELB’s Loan Recovery Department upon confirming his loan records quickly processed and handed him an undergraduate
clearance certificate.

HELB’s Chief executive officer Charles Ringera said that the board has recently dedicated her focus towards recovering outstanding loans in order to sustain the present university students.

“We are aggressively sourcing for external funds with various financial institutions, universities, county governments and constituencies in order to empower the dreams of other students,” Mr Ringera said.

Meanwhile, Samuel Abisai has also spent a substantial amount of his jackpot cash on spoiling himself. In addition to splurging abroad on several occasions, he bought himself a posh convertible Mercedes-Benz, which set him back about Sh 10 million.
