Can my Audiobox 22VSL function only as a 48V Phantom Power supply without coecting it to my computer?

Can I (safely) use my 22VSL as only a 48V phantom power supply by coecting the USB cable to my phone's charger instead of to my computer?

When I play onstage, I do not need my computer but I do need a 48V Phantom Power Supply for my two microphones before they feed into my amplifier. Could I safely use my PreSonus AudioBox 22VSL as simply a 48V phantom power supply by plugging in the Audiobox's included USB cable into my phone charger? (The charger is rated at 5 volts and a max of 600 mA)

According to the owner's manual for the 22VSL, the power light "LED will flash blue & red when the unit is properly powered but no USB coection is detected."

The owner's manual goes on to say, "The AudioBox 22VSL is bus-powered via this coection and does not require an external power supply" but is does not indicate if any damage will be done if an external power supply (of the correct voltage/amperage is used instead.)

Assuming for a minute that an external power supply would do no damage and would function properly, would my phone charger (5 Volts and 600 mA) be suitable?

Again, I simply want to use the 22VSL as a 48V Phantom Power Supply to send "juice" to my microphones coming in via the front XLR ports and exiting out the back through the two output ports (to then be sent on to my stage amp).

On the other hand, I don't want to fry my 22VSL box.

If this will (safely) work, I will not need to shell out additional money just to buy a dedicated 48V Phantom Power Supply.

I won't even try it before receiving a definitive answer. "It should work" isn't a definitive answer.
