Photos of the Obamas Indonesia Vacation has quickly gone viral. The ex-POTUS and his family kicked off a 10-day visit to the Asian nation on Sunday the 25th of June.
Obama and his family including wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha kicked off the vacation at the island of Bali where they checked into a luxurious Four Seasons Resort in Ubud.

During their 3 days in Bali, the former first family paid a visit to the Jatiluwih tourist site in Tabanan.

They also visited Jatiluwih rice terrace which is one of UNESCO’s world heritages.

On Monday, they were seen river rafting on the Ayung River in Badung.

The Bali-stay was rounded up with a visit to the Tirtha Empul temple at Tampaksiring Village in Gianyar.

The Hindu temple houses a holy spring water which Hindu-worshipers believe have the powers to purify.

The Obamas Indonesia vacation continued in Yogyakarta on Java island. They landed the island at the city’s military airport in a private jet on Wednesday 28th June.
CNN Indonesia revealed that at least 650 Indonesian security officials were deployed to ensure their safety.

First up in Yogyakarta was a visit to the Borobudur temple in Magelang.

The 9th-century temple is said to be the largest Buddhist temple in the world, no wonder Obama couldn’t help but take a snapshot for a later personal viewing pleasure.

The family then visited the Prambanan Temple on Thursday, June 29th.The is definitely a nostalgic one for the ex-POTUS who spent 4 years of his childhood in the country.

In 1967, his mother A Dunham parted ways with his Kenyan father whom she met while attending the University of Hawaii.
After the split, Dunham married an Indonesian and relocated with 6-year-old Obama to the nation’s capital, Jakarta.
Obama lived in Jakarta with his mom and step-dad throughout the period of their marriage, which was four years.
When they split in 1971, Obama was sent back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. However, his mother remained in Indonesia, studying indigenous craft industries in Yogyakarta.
Obama’s mom used the people of Yogyakarta as the case study for her PhD thesis “Peasant blacksmithing in Indonesia: surviving and thriving against all odds.”
Obama first returned to Indonesia as a president in 2010. He was accompanied only by his wife Michelle Obama.

Before leaving the nation, Obama is scheduled to meet the president Joko “Jokowi” Widodo at Jakarta on Friday 30th June.
He will also be speaking at an Indonesian Diaspora Congress slated to hold in the capital on Saturday, July 1st.
