Error "0x80004005" and "DFU FAILED!" when updating Faderport 8 firmware from 1.01 to 1.10?

I just received my Faderport 8 in the mail today. My console came with firmware 1.01. After ruing through most of the firmware install for version 1.10, the scribble strips displayed the following information:

"DFU FAILED! Please cycle power."

On my computer, Universal Control displayed the following error window:

I restarted the console and my computer, but I still have the same problem.

I have an iMac (Late 2013) ruing iOS 10.10.3.
