i just built a comp with all the parts trbone suggested. Do i still need a video card and tb card?

Just built the complete system and no screen at all. Do I need to add a video card and probably a thunderbolt card? Already got the adaptor but need to know if I need the pci tb card as well. Suppose I should not have assumed there was onboard graphics with the motherboard.
