Initial setup of Audiobox 1818- what am I missing?

So I've got my Audiobox1818 plug a mic into it- no signal seems to go in. Downloaded the UC and the Studio live program. Deosn't seem to sync up with it. What am I missing.

Aside from the fact that Presonus support is one hot mess of dysfunction? Very aoyed and frustrated at this point. Called into support, been on hold for an hour. What I see in the owner's manual does not match up with what I see on my CPU and I can't get anything to work.

I wish I didn't have to answer the phone for my paying customers- maybe I should get a job with Presonus!
