Tap tempo not working in Studio One 3.5.4

I've seen videos where the tempo of a song in Studio One can be edited by tapping on the word "Tempo", located in the bottom bar undeeath the field that allows you to type the tempo. How do I enable this? When hovering over the word, a tooltip reading "Tap Tempo" appears, but tapping on it doesn't seem to have any effect.
