E5 monitors have different frequency response - is this to be expected?

E5 pair but one is brighter than the other. This is clearly audible. I have swapped cables etc. and it's definitely a speaker issue. I can compensate with something like a 7.9dB boost at 5kHz in one chael. Surely that isn't normal?
