Copy Metadata To All Tracks - not working.?

In a 'Project' session, enter some figure in the 'Year' field of the metadata for a track and hit Retu. Now right-click on that field and choose 'Copy Metadata To All Tracks' from the menu.

Result:- the figure you first added disappears and no entries are made in any of the other tracks metadata 'Year' field. I expected my figure to be copied to that same field in all other tracks. Am I using this feature in the wrong way..? Can anyone confirm please..?
