Chris Musando, the ICT Deputy Director at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has been found dead with one of his arms cut off.
Police said the deputy director’s body was found in Kikuyu and taken to City Mortuary in Nairobi on Sunday.
His family members have identified it and are at the facility.
The electoral body’s chairman Wafula Chebukati had revealed on Sunday in a statement that Musando was missing. He was last seen at Aiversary Towers on Friday night.
“The last communication from him is an SMS text sent to one of his colleagues at around 3:00 am on Saturday morning. The content of the SMS suggests that he was conscious and fully aware of his itinerary for that day,” read the statement.

IEBC said the matter was reported to the police who are working with his family members to establish his whereabouts.
Musando’s wife, Elva Else Auma Buyu, had filed a missing person report at the Embakasi Police Station informing police that his three phones went unanswered.
The Police later discovered a vehicle believed to belong to the missing ICT deputy director.
This was after a twitter user posted pictures of a sports utility vehicle purportedly parked at a flat in Roysambu, behind the Thika Road Mall on the Thika Superhighway.
Along with the photos posted, the woman wrote: “So Musando is somewhere in Roysambu having a good time and they reported him missing.”
“Uncle ako poa,” she added.
The grey Land Rover Discovery was towed to Kasarani Police Station.

Nairobi County Police Commander Japhet Koome said the vehicle was in the early hours of Monday morning, dusted for fingerprints. He said the police were trying to establish a timeline to trace the ICT deputy director’s movement.
“It is hard for us at this point to tell whether he is safe or not, but we hope for the best,” said Mr. Koome.
“We will let you know of any development”.
Chris Musando was one of the few people with knowledge of the whereabouts of the IEBC servers. He had also reported a number of death threats to Central police station.
