President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked all disgruntled election losers in the country to use legal action to get a redress.
Speaking at Harambee House on Monday where he met the Assumption of Office Committee, Uhuru said;
“Our friends who are yet to accept the outcome… we have extended friendship to them… they should use whatever mechanism in the Constitution to express dissatisfaction.”
“Those who would want to picket can do so but within the provisions of the law. At the end of the day, we are all Kenyans. We do not need to turn one another.”
“We don’t need to destroy each other’s property.”

He went on to thank the Police for their work but also urged officers to exercise restraint and provide protection during peaceful and lawful protests as contained in the law by those who are not happy with the outcome of the General Elections.
“Police are ready to offer protection during peaceful protests and those aggrieved should realize they do not need my permission or that of Jubilee to hold peaceful protests.”
He, however, issued a stern warning that the government will not tolerate any loss of lives and destruction of property as a result of violence.
“Kenyans have said the election is behind them and a majority have returned to work. Don’t interrupt the lives of others.”
Mr. Kenyatta further cautioned against looting and destroying property in some parts of the country, where post-election protests have been reported.
“As a government, we will not allow the destruction of property loss of lives and looting.”
President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the wier of the August 8 presidential elections ahead of his closest challenger and main rival, Raila Odinga.

According to the results released by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Uhuru garnered 8,203,290 votes, representing 54.27 per cent of the votes cast to Raila’s 6,762,224 votes.
Raila Odinga has since rejected the outcome, saying the election’s results were manipulated.
