Meru Senator-elect Mithika Linturi Promises To Nurture Peter Munya’s Singing Talent

Meru Senator-elect Mithika Linturi is promising to provide a music studio to nurture outgoing Governor Peter Munya’s singing talent.

“We will get Munya a studio where he can record songs after we realized he is very talented,” said the fuy Senator elect.

Linturi taunted the incumbent governor while he was receiving his certificate over the weekend at Meru School.

He joked that he was amazed by Munya’s vocal prowess during the election campaigns and advised that he should look into making a career out of it.

Mithika Linturi further asked Munya to concentrate on his 2022 presidential bid because he had failed to deliver his 2013 election mandate to the people of Meru.

He added that the people were not pleased with the Council of Governors chairman as his campaign faced a lot of resistance from the residents who were against him.

“It was not easy and very many people in Meru were against it as we appeared to bring down one of our own who wanted to be president,” the Jubilee politician conveyed.

Governor Munya garnered 230,892 votes to the race wier, Jubilee’s Kiratu Murungi who got 278,547 votes.

Munya has, however, called foul and rejected the results claiming that they were computerized.

“We are back to the old KANU days where elections were stolen to divert the will of the will of the people,” said Munya to journalists after the gubernatorial elections were aounced.

The outgoing county boss had been certain of victory during the campaign season which saw him and Kiraitu tear into each other at every chance they got.

Peter Munya now joins the growing list of a disgruntled pool of politicians who have rejected interim results of the August 8 general election.
