Presidential Election Result: NASA Moving To Supreme Court For Redress

National Super Alliance has aounced that it will move to the Supreme Court to challenge the 2017 presidential election result.

Raila Odinga who termed the election results as “computer generated”, said the decision to head to the Supreme Court was done to give the court a second chance.

He said they were also encouraged by the continued oppression of civil societies in the country who are pointing out discrepancies.

“The court can use this chance to redeem itself, or, like in 2013, it can compound the problems we face as a country,” said Mr. Odinga at a press conference at the Okoa Kenya Secretariat in Lavington, Nairobi, on Wednesday.

“We had said that we would not go to the courts. However, the raid on the civil society and determination to silence all voices that could seek legal redress, like the Africa Centre for Open Governance (AfriCOG), the Kenya Human Rights Commission, we have now decided to move to the Supreme Court and lay before the world the making of a computer-generated leadership.”

Police and KRA authorities on Wednesday raided the office of AfriCOG, a pro-democracy organization that had raised questions over preparations for last week’s disputed election.

Raila added that by going to court, he is not legitimizing foreign governments’ calls for him to concede, but is rather giving the people a chance to be heard.

He noted that NASA will produce evidence of rigging in the election after which IEBC declared President Uhuru Kenyatta wier.

“Jubilee shamelessly cooked the results through non-existent forms 34A. An algorithm was put in place to manipulate original results keyed in,” he added.

“The commission refused to address all the questions submitted by NASA and rather aounced Uhuru president-elect though forms 34A had not be verified. We are not going to accept computer generated leaders until all our concerns are addressed.”

Odinga further argued that Uhuru maintained a constant 11 percent lead on him during the counting of votes.

“There was a bizarre phenomenon of Uhuru Kenyatta’s lead maintaining an 11 percent lead throughout the tallying. A fixed gap has never been maintained in any democracy in the world.”

“IEBC might have declared Uhuru Kenyatta as President but a vast number of Kenyans have not approved Uhuru Kenyatta’s win.”

“We refuse to sit and watch Jubilee turn our country into a banana republic.”

Raila also accused Jubilee of assassinating IEBC ICT manager Chris Msando so that its leaders could remain in power.
