Desperation is never a good thing, no matter the circumstance surrounding the situation but specifically in finding a significant other as the case was for the Nairobi woman in a wedding dress.

A woman dressed in a white wedding gown was spotted on Tom Mboya Street in Nairobi on Tuesday morning holding a placard with a plea for a husband.

The woman who identified herself as Nyambura on the placard waved it high in the air as she held the hands of a girl who according to the sign is her daughter.

“Need for a husband Pris,” Nyambura boldly wrote along with her name, age, and phone number with a disclosure of her having a 7-year-old daughter.

BuzzKenya has tried to call the displayed number but the operator has repeatedly said it was busy.

Reactions To The Nairobi Woman In A Wedding Dress

Kenyans on Social Media have reacted to the Nyambura’s antics with a majority criticising her for subjecting her child to such.

One Twitter user wrote: “There is someone who might see the good in her sickness. Hata kipofu huolewa na mtu anaona, kiwete huolewa na mtu anatembea vizuri.”

Another one with Twitter handle @HonPrince8 said: “Nyambura, tho! She should consult a digital team to help her get a computer-generated man.”

The statement was in reference to the phrase coined by Raila Odinga who said the IEBC delivered “computer-generated leaders”.

One user tagged the NASA flag bearer to the photos reminding him of his pledge to take care of single mothers by giving them a voice through socio-economic empowerment.

Other social media users praised Nyambura for taking the brave step to look for a husband.

“I wholly salute that lady’s courage! Hope fate gets her a good husband! A challenge 2 all single & hurting ladies out there! Rise up,” wrote @silva_kaz.

Desperate women searching for husbands have done far worse in the past. There have been cases of witchcraft being used or in the cases of the well to do ones, they buy themselves a man by taking care of him while he literally does nothing.

Others use pregnancy to keep a man and can even go as far as distorting themselves with surgery to look “appealing”.

There are no dos and don’ts when it comes to the issues of the heart. People tend to become a whole new person, acting differently to find happiness and we can only hope Nyambura finds it without being taken advantage of.
