Mayweather vs McGregor: The Most Anticipated Boxing Match Of All Time

After months of build-up to the most anticipated boxing match of all time, the Mayweather vs McGregor fight is just a few hours away.

The fight, which is set to break all pay-per-view records, will see out-of-retirement undefeated boxer, Floyd Mayweather, go against the mixed martial arts star fighter, Conor McGregor, in Las Vegas.

This will be McGregor’s first professional boxing contest making him the underdog for the event. The 29-year-old Irish man, however, insists he is ready to stun the world of combat sports by upsetting Mayweather.

“Been to a lot of these crazy press conferences,” said McGregor in the final press conference before the fight. “This is a lot more subdued. More business-like, the way I like it.”

“We are prepared for 12 three-minute rounds of non-stop pace. We are prepared, I will put pressure on him and break this old man. Trust me on that.”

“I don’t see him lasting two rounds. I feel I have the decision to end it inside one.”

Mayweather had a lot of praise for his opponent during the press conference. He called him a “helluva fighter, a stand-up guy and a tough competitor” but said it will be just another day in the office for him.

“It’s not going to be an easy fight, It’s going to be blood sweat and tears,” said the 40-year-old.

“After 21 years I’ve been hit with everything and I’m still right here and if you give it, you must be able to take it. There have been plenty of guys who talked a lot of trash, but when it’s all said and done, I came out victorious.”

“I’ve said it’s not going the distance and you can mark my words. Anything and everything in boxing that can be done, I’ve done it. I was born a fighter, I will die a fighter.”

Mayweather is widely regarded as one of the best defensive fighters ever, as he prides himself on his ability to evade punches with his skillful movement around the ring.

A win for him would move him ahead of former heavyweight great Rocky Marciano, who also retired with a perfect 49-0 career record.

McGregor, on the other hand, is the UFC’s reigning lightweight champion and former featherweight champion. He is known as much for his bravado as for his explosive knockout power inside an MMA octagon.

Mayweather vs McGregor Fight Prediction

This fight is difficult to predict because we have never seen an MMA fighter successfully cross over into boxing. Also, the magnitude of the opponent being faced in Mayweather makes it hard to see it go otherwise.

Inexperience is a huge disadvantage in sports but that does not say that an upset is not unlikely. Many fans believe McGregor can pull off the upset because he’s bigger, younger, a southpaw, and he’s got legitimate power.

Prediction: McGregor to win by knockout or Mayweather by decision.
