TALKBACK REMOTE & THUNDERBOLT 1

Hi all. I'm in the market for a new interface and Quantum looks like the one for me.

Is there any way to control the talkback remotely e.g. over MIDI?

Also, are there any decreased performance/latency issues with an older Mac's Thunderbolt 1 coection?
